This site is designed to start a conversation

Evergreen is a close-knit mountain community, and like communities across the country, it is not untouched by addiction, alcoholism, and the impact substance use can have on individuals, families, and loved ones.

Evergreen Sobriety Club began with a simple question: What would it look like to create a dedicated, recovery-centered clubhouse in Evergreen? A place where meetings can gather consistently, fellowship can grow, and the hand of recovery can remain available to anyone seeking help.

We believe that conversation is worth having, and that our community may be ready to build something lasting.

National data from SAMHSA shows that 17.1% of Americans age 12 and older experienced a substance use disorder in the past year, and 10.2% experienced an alcohol use disorder, a reminder that the need for recovery, fellowship, and support is real right here in Evergreen.

This is about those still struggling

When someone in Evergreen reaches the point where they need help, there is no single, central place to go. Yes, meetings are held at different times, on different days, and in different locations throughout the community, but there is no permanent place where someone can simply walk through the doors, look another person in the eyes, and know they are not alone.

Evergreen Sobriety Club hopes to help change that.

Grounded in the principles of Unity, Service, and Recovery, the Club will offer a safe, accessible, and welcoming place where people can gather in fellowship, find support, and experience the hope of recovery together. It will also create new opportunities for service through volunteers willing to keep the doors open, the coffee on, and a friendly face available when someone calls, walks in, or reaches out for help.

As the Big Book reminds us:
“Practical experience shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from drinking as intensive work with other alcoholics.”
